We are delighted to welcome to Dublin Olgierd Łukaszewicz, renowned star of films such as Sexmission (1984), for a public interview following our Opening Film, ‘A Cat With A Dog’ (December 6th) and director Małgorzata Szumowska (‘In the Name Of,‘Body/ Ciało’), following ‘Mug’ screening on December 8th.

Olgierd Łukaszewicz has appeared in over 60 films since his 1969 graduation from the Academy for the Dramatic Arts in Kraków, including films by Andrzej Wajda: ‘The Birch Wood’ (1970), Kazimierz Kutz: ‘Salt of the Black Earth’ (1969), ‘The Pearl in the Crown’ (1971); Agnieszka Holland’s ‘The Fever’ (1980), Juliusz Machulski’s cult comedy ‘Sexmission’ (1984) or Ryszard Bugajski’s ‘General Nil’ (2009). He also worked extensively in theatre and television throughout his career.

Małgorzata Szumowska is one of the most renowned Polish directors. She’s been directing, writing and producing feature and documentary films. Her movies have received many awards, for example Silver Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival for ‘33 Scenes from Life’ (2008); Teddy Award for ‘In the Name of’ (2013), Silver Bear for ‘Body/ Ciało’ (2015) and Silver Bear for ‘Mug’ (2018) at the Berlin International Film Festival.
