Kinopolis 2017 is here!

The IFI and Kinopolis, Dublin's annual Polish Film Festival, are
pleased to once again present a programme of films celebrating one
of Europe's strongest filmmaking communities. At this year's Polish
Film Festival in Gdynia, seven of the 17 films in competition were
directed or co-directed by women (including recent IFI hit Loving
Vincent), and this is also true of four of the six features chosen
for this year's programme, ranging from relative newcomer Maria
Sadowska (The Art Of Loving) to veteran Agnieszka Holland (Spoor).
Among the topics explored are immigration (Birds Are Singing In
Kigali), the experience of the Polish diaspora (Beyond Words), how
nationalism can develop (Be Prepared), and time travel (The Man With
The Magic Box). Finally, contemporary Polish animation will once
again be showcased in the popular shorts programme. We look forward
to welcoming you to this year's festival.
